Matt Hartley

Election Agent for Warwick & Leamington Conservatives

Matt lives in north Leamington and got involved with the local Conservatives during the last General Election.  He ran the local Conservatives' local elections campaign in May 2007, as well as standing for the District Council himself.  He is currently studying for a Masters degree at the University of Warwick and now also works part-time for Warwick and Leamington Conservatives.

Moira-Ann was elected to both the District and Town Council in the May 2007 elections and since then has been working hard on many issues, particularly relating to crime and anti-social behaviour in the ward.  Moira-Ann was born in Warwick, went to Aylesford School and outside politics is involved in charity fundraising.

Karen is a well known local NHS campaigner who was elected as a Conservative District Councillor in 2007, after resigning her membership of the Labour Party in protest at the Labour government's mismanagement of the health service.  A staff nurse at Warwick Hospital, she helped lead the 'Save Warwick Hospital' campaign and organised the biggest protest march that Warwick has ever seen in protest against hospital cuts.

Bob was elected to the District and Town council to represent Warwick West residents in May 2007, after years of campaigning on local issues.  Bob has a young family, works locally and is also a governor of Westgate Primary School.

Michael is a retired Army officer who has represented Warwick West on the District and Town councils since 2003.  In the Army, he rose through the ranks to become a Lieutenant Colonel and was awarded an OBE for distinguished military service.  He has lived in Cape Road with his wife Enid for 20 years and is the Portfolio Holder for the Environment on the District Council.

Elizabeth lives in the heart of Warwick West and after only narrowly failing to be elected the ward's County Councillor in 2005, won seats on both the District and Town councils in the May 2007 local elections.  Amongst the many voluntary groups she is involved with is Warwick Townsfolk - the local residents' group that succesfully campaigned for the rejection of the then Labour-controlled Warwickshire County Council's Traffic Management Scheme in 2004.

Gerry has been a councillor since 1976 and has had the honour of being Mayor of the Town on three seperate occasions.  He represents Warwick South on both the District and Town Councils and is also currently Leader of the Conservative Group on the Town Council.

Anne was elected to the District Council in the Warwick South by-election in 2004, and represents the ward on the both the District and Town councils.  Anne lives in Warwick Gates and has a long history of campaigning on behalf of local residents.  She is also currently Deputy Mayor of Warwick.

Alan Rhead
is a well-known local businessman, employing over 150 people in the area.
He has lived in Barford with his wife, Hilary, and their children, for nearly thirty years.  Elected to the District Council in May 2007, he has joined fellow Budbrooke Councillor Clare Sawdon in representing Budbrooke resident’s interests on the council.

Clare has lived in Warwickshire all her life and now lives with he two children in Hatton.  In addition to being a magistrate, she has served Budbrooke Ward as District Councillor since 2003.  Clare has recently been campaigning for a greater police presence in the ward to combat anti-social behaviour.

Malcolm was elected to Warwick District Council in May 2007 to represent the interests of the residents of Bishop's Tachbrook ward.  He has been actively invovled in the local community for over 20 years, especially with youth organisations in and around Warwick and Leamington.  His main priorities on the council are policing, improving recycling and road safety issues.

Les has been a District Councillor for 16 years and is currently the Chairman of the District, in addition to being a Conservative County Councillor.  He has campaigned for the communities he represents tirelessly, and has succesfully obtained cash grants for local village halls, sports clubs and societies.

Linda is an energetic campaigner who has stood up for residents' rights on a variety of issues - from the campaign to Save South Warwickshire Schools in the 1990s to flood defences and housing problems.  She is currently involved in the project to regenerate St Nicholas Park in the town and has represented Warwick West as a Town Councillor since May 2007.

Gordon is a local Chartered Surveyor and went to Warwick School.  He has been Chairman and President of the Warwick Round Table and is a longstanding member of Warwick Rotary.  Elected to the Town Council in 2007, he has been working hard with his colleagues to ensure continued success for the town.

John has been involved in the local Conservatives for over 30 years and has been campaigning in Warwick & Leamington since John Hobson was the local MP.  He formerly worked in the print industry and therefore knows a great deal about leaflets and newsletters!  John lives in Willes ward in Leamington, is a former Chairman of the Association who now sits as a Deputy Chairman.

Chris, from Warwick, got involved with the local Conservatives during the 2005 General Election campaign whilst studying for his A-levels.  Currently studying a Business degree at the University of Birmingham, Chris sits on the General Election Campaign Team and has responsibility for e-campaigning.

Faye is a Law Student at the University of Warwick where she leads the University Conservative Association.  Faye lives in Leamington has been actively involved in the local Party for the past two years, playing a big role in the 2007 local elections.
