This year’s local elections were an astounding success for the Conservatives, with the Party winning councils from Southampton to North Tyneside. The final national vote shares were Conservatives on 44%, the Liberal Democrats on 25% and Labour finishing third with 24% - Labour’s worst result in a generation.
The Conservatives now run every local council in Warwickshire, after gaining Nuneaton and Bedworth council from Labour for the first time in it’s history. Conservative Councillors are now working hard across the county to meet their manifesto promises and delivering real change for local residents.
Conservative Parliamentary Candidate Chris White said: “These results show that people in Warwickshire and across the country are tired of Gordon Brown’s failing Labour government and now have the confidence in to give the Conservatives a chance to bring about the changes our country needs.”
