Chris White, Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Warwick and Leamington, is supporting proposals for the introduction of online crime mapping across the county. Chris says: “Providing the public, in map form, with information about the level and type of crime affecting the area in which they live is an innovative way of making better use of technology in the fight against crime. Making residents aware of the different types of crime to watch out for in their street and local area can help communities to work more closely with the police to make our streets safer, and will make the police and Home Office more accountable to the statements they make about trends in the level of crime. The approach has been shown to work in the America, and I hope the government will seriously consider Conservative proposals to roll out the practice across the UK”
