On Friday 26th October, Chris White attended an event to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Senior Citizens Activity Group held at the Royal Spa Centre.
Chris, who is the Portfolio Holder for Culture on the Warwick District Council, was the event at which the Chair of SCAG, Len Dacombe, together with fellow founding members Cecilia Dacombe and Marie Bryan, cut a celebration cake.
The Senior Citizens Activity Group was set up in 1982 in response to a demand for more facilities for organised physical activity for the over-50s in the District. Since then, the organisation has grown and grown, and now regularly attracts more than 80 members each week to the Royal Spa Centre to participate in a wide range of activities.
Following the event Chris said: “I’m delighted to be here to share the celebrations – SCAG is a wonderful organisation, and is a real example of community spirit in action. I’m sure it will go from strength to strength – here’s to the next 25 years!”
