Chris White, Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Warwick and Leamington, today welcomed the £100,000 boost obtained from Advantage West Midlands to draw up proposals for what to do with the 20 hectares of land around Leamington railway station, including the site of the old Ford Foundry.
Conservative Councillor John Hammon, who is responsible for development on Warwick District Council, said of the news: “There is major potential for positive regeneration of this area as a gateway to Leamington and the heart of the District.”
Speaking on Friday, Chris White said: “This is good news for Leamington – and I’m particularly pleased with the announcement of an extensive public consultation this June and July. It’s really important that the community gets a say in what happens with the site and I’m pleased that the ball has begun to roll.”
